How to Cancel iCloud+
Step by step · checked against the official help page in October 2026

Short answer: On iPhone (iOS 18.4 or later): Settings, your name, Subscriptions, iCloud+, then Cancel Subscription. Download anything over 5 GB first.
Cancel on your iPhone
- Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions, then iCloud+ under Active.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. To pay less instead, tap See All Plans and pick a smaller plan.
Older iPhone software
- iOS 18 to 18.3: Settings, your name, iCloud, then Manage Plan under iCloud+ Features, then Downgrade Options.
- iOS 17 and earlier: Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage Account Storage, then Downgrade Options.
- No Apple device any more? Apple explains how to cancel iCloud+ online on its help page.
What happens after you cancel
- The change takes effect after your current billing period ends.
- If your data is bigger than the free storage, iCloud stops syncing and backups stop until you make space.
- You lose iCloud+ features such as Hide My Email and Private Relay.
Before you cancel: save money
- Before cancelling, download or delete what doesn't fit into your new plan.
- Pay for Apple One too? It includes iCloud+ storage, so you may be paying twice.
- Changed plans recently? Apple says to contact them within 14 days for a refund.
