How to Cancel Xbox Game Pass
Step by step · checked against the official help page in October 2026

Short answer: Sign in at account.microsoft.com/services, select Manage next to the subscription, then Cancel subscription. On the console: Profile & system, Settings, Account, Subscriptions.
Cancel on the website
- Go to account.microsoft.com/services (Subscriptions) and sign in with the Microsoft account you bought it with.
- Find your subscription and select Manage.
- Select Cancel subscription and follow the instructions. If you're eligible for a refund, you'll see an option to cancel immediately with a refund.
On your Xbox console
- Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
- Go to Profile & system > Settings > Account > Subscriptions.
- Choose the subscription, select Cancel subscription and follow the steps.
What happens after you cancel
- Turning off recurring billing stops future charges; you keep the benefits until the expiration date.
- Xbox lists a refund within 30 days of your first purchase (or before the first renewal, whichever comes first), and a one-time refund of your latest renewal if you cancel within 30 days of that payment.
- See Turn on recurring billing instead of Manage? It's already set to end; you won't be charged again.
Before you cancel: save money
- Paying for someone else's subscription? The owner of that Microsoft account has to sign in and cancel it.
