How to Cancel HBO Max

Step by step · checked against the official help page in October 2026

Short answer: If HBO Max bills you directly, go to HBOMax.com/subscription and choose Cancel Your Subscription. If someone else bills you (Apple, Google, Amazon, Roku, your TV company), cancel there.

Cancel on the website

1. Go to HBOMax.com/subscription and sign in.
2. Choose Cancel Your Subscription.
3. Confirm, and note your expiration date.

No cancel option? Find who bills you

1. Check the top of the Subscription page: it shows who bills you. In the app, choose your profile, then Subscription (on a TV: the Settings icon, then Subscription).
2. Amazon: cancel at amazon.com/appstoresubscriptions. Roku: at my.roku.com. Apple or Google Play: in that store.
3. Billed by your internet, mobile or TV provider? Contact them.

Paying through Apple or Google?

If Apple or Google Play bills you, cancel HBO Max in that store.

iPhone or iPad (Apple):

1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
3. Tap the subscription, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Android (Google Play):

1. Open the Google Play Store app.
2. Tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
3. Tap the subscription, then Cancel subscription, and follow the steps.

What happens after you cancel

• You can stream until your subscription expires at the end of the billing period.
• An Extra Member Add-On is cancelled when your base plan expires.
• Deleting the HBO Max app does not cancel your subscription.

Before you cancel: save money

• Cancel before your next billing date to avoid another charge.
