How to Cancel Netflix
Step by step · checked against the official help page in October 2026

Short answer: Go to the Manage your membership page on netflix.com, select Cancel, then Finish Cancellation. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
Cancel on the website
- Go to netflix.com and sign in, then open your Account and the Manage your membership page.
- Tap or click Cancel.
- Under Cancel, tap or click Finish Cancellation. A confirmation email is sent to the email on the account.
No cancel option?
- Then you pay Netflix through a partner (for example your phone, internet or TV company, or an app store).
- On your Account page, look under Membership: you'll see a link to cancel or instructions to contact that partner.
What happens after you cancel
- You can keep watching until the end of the billing period you've paid for. To see when your account closes, check your Payment History.
- You won't be charged again unless you restart your account.
- If your account is on hold, it closes right away when you cancel.
- Signing out or deleting the Netflix app does not cancel your membership.
Before you cancel: save money
- Just need a break? On the Cancel page you can Pause for 1 Month instead (not on the Basic plan or with some payment methods). Pauses can add up to 3 months.
- Switching to a phone or TV package that includes Netflix? You don't need to cancel: link your existing account to the package and Netflix stops billing you directly.
