How to Cancel Microsoft 365

Step by step · checked against the official help page in October 2026

Short answer: Go to account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365, sign in with the account you bought it with and select Cancel subscription (it may say Upgrade or Cancel).

Cancel on the website

1. Go to account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365 and sign in with the Microsoft account you used to buy it.
2. Select Cancel subscription (it might say Upgrade or Cancel).
3. Read the Please review section, then select I don't want my subscription at the bottom.

Bought it somewhere else?

1. From a retailer such as Amazon: contact that retailer to cancel.
2. Only see Turn on recurring billing? Then it's already set to end on the date shown; you won't be charged again.

Paying through Apple or Google?

Bought through Google Play or the Apple App Store? Cancel or ask for a refund there.

iPhone or iPad (Apple):

1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
3. Tap the subscription, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Android (Google Play):

1. Open the Google Play Store app.
2. Tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
3. Tap the subscription, then Cancel subscription, and follow the steps.

What happens after you cancel

• Your cloud storage goes back to 5 GB (OneDrive and Outlook.com attachments), plus 15 GB of Outlook.com mail storage. With Family or Premium, everyone you shared with is reduced too.
• If you use more than the free storage, you can't upload or sync new files to OneDrive or send and receive Outlook.com email. After 6 months, Microsoft may delete your OneDrive files.
• Not every cancellation gets a refund. Microsoft checks refund eligibility after you cancel.

Before you cancel: save money

• Move files you need out of OneDrive before you cancel if you're over 5 GB.
• The cancel page may also show cheaper Microsoft plans.
